The Oakwood Academy in partnership with Nottingham Trent University is offering a great opportunity for pupils interested in joining our school. Children all receive a ‘passport to learning’ when they join the scheme and collect stamps when they take part in CU validated activities, called learning destinations. The learning destinations can include after school clubs, Brownies, Scouts for example.
Children's Universities is an accredited programme of three stages, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We will provide the passport to learning so that your child can start their learning adventure with us.

In September, 10 of our Year 7 students have been invited to take part in The Children's University (CU). This is a national scheme which celebrates learning out of school. Students can attend various learning destinations before, during and after school and visits to tourist attractions such as museums, formal sports coaching activities and participation in music, drama and scout or guide groups also count.
For every hour of CU learning students get a stamp in their passport. Once they have received 100 stamps the students are awarded their gold award at a very special graduation ceremony at Nottingham Trent University.
We very much look forward to seeing our Year 7 students graduate in their cap and gown!
