Expectations for the New Term 2017


The Oakwood Academy starts back after the Summer break for Year 7 and Year 11 students on Thursday 31st August at 8.45am.


(Years 8, 9 and 10 will start back at 9.45am on the first day)

The wearing of full school uniform is expected as an integral part of the school ethos which promotes positive attitudes, high standards and a sense of personal pride.

Students must wear the correct school uniform as listed below.


Current policy states the following:

Black or white socks Black or white socks and black tights to go with tartan skirt

Black school trousers should be in a traditional 'loose fitting' trouser style and not tight fitting. Denim/Denim Style, stretchy tight materials or 'skinny' type trousers are not acceptable. Trouser legs should have the capability of covering a school shoe. Socks should be plain black.

School shoes must be plain black, made of a conventional material which can be polished, without coloured logos, tags and soles.  Trainer style shoes are not permitted.
